Hoenn's resources belong to Hoenn. One of the primary reasons that Fernando enlists his own Pokemon is to make sure they're able to harvest a good share of mushrooms for their own analysis. The regular ones, no one cares about. It's the ones affected by the Ultra Wormhole that they to scrutinize for more information.

As uninteresting as it is, Fernando's Cutiefly flies around diligently, like a cutiepie, trying to catch a whiff of any nearby truffles.

Willow did not particularly appreciate the fungal growths they were designated to gather, and yet it was a welcome change to its vigil over Adrian's garden. The freedom to explore, to find roots older than his own and survey the wilds unhampered...

Nothing beat that in Willow's book, at least.

What none of the others would realize, was Willow sought a very particular type of mushroom favored by certain humans for its side effects. Adrian himself had grown some of these before, not that Willow had found them particularly palatable.

The keepers it tucked away inside the hollowed trunk of its figure for Adrian to sift through later, the rest it seemed to adorn itself with, clumps of the spores' growths sprouting along its body as its innate ability began cultivating the gathered specimens. Soon there would be shrooms a'plenty.

If there was one thing Carina wanted to do it was to gather mushrooms and other cute things for her human companion.[break][break]

However, today would be slightly different since they had to pluck a certain kind of mushroom—and that she couldn’t bring this back to her human! Grumbling as she listened to her companion’s explanation, she eventually agreed to do this for whatever was looking for these strange mushrooms…[break][break]

Pestilence had been sent out on his own, a request from Sebastian to Pick Up some mushrooms that a job description had explained. They were "unique" mushrooms, whatever that meant the Meowth at least knew not to go around gathering plain ol' mushrooms or even ones he himself thought were special, no, he was to collect these unique shrooms. Teamed up with a group of various other Pokemon, Pestilence the Meowth soon enough would discover the mushrooms they were exactly looking for, as such he'd begin to Pick Up these shrooms as well, placing them into the satchel-bag slung around his torso. He could only carry so much due to his own size as well as his bag's, but some was better than none.

While his "teammates" consisted of small flying bugs there were other, and much larger, allies including a living tree that was very much so haunting to look at. Nonetheless when his bag was full Pestilence would also take to carrying a large mushroom within his arms before setting out to complete the task by delivering the harvest/bounty.

Like the rest of its team, Yggdrassil never wanted its first time in the field to be collecting mushrooms. It’s a tree. Mushrooms are fungi. But if its trainer said it was needed to accomplish a certain job, them it had no choice but to comply. After all, Selena did mention about sneaking a few mushrooms in case they found many.

For these mushrooms were not ordinary.

Using its HARVEST ability, the trevenant proceeded finding a few mushrooms. Its self-made basket gathered some of its harvest as it stole some more underneath its wooden skin.
